GLI INIZI

Batterista, produttore artistico e imprenditore, Lorenzo Ferrari, nato a Bergamo l’8 gennaio 1990, si avvicina alla musica nel 1995, all’età di cinque anni, grazie allo studio del pianoforte.

Dopo pochi mesi sposta la sua attenzione sulla batteria e, a sette anni, inizia a prendere lezioni private dal maestro Marco Salomoni, imparando i primi rudimenti.

A dieci anni entra al Centro Studi Musicali EUPHONIA di Bergamo, studiando batteria con il maestro Carlo Virzi e teoria musicale con il professor Mauro Longari.

 

LA PRIMA BAND

A seguito di numerose improvvisazioni e jam session organizzate esclusivamente per divertimento, nel 2005 fonda insieme al chitarrista Alessandro Ventura la sua prima rock band chiamata FAIL, in cui riveste il ruolo sia di batterista sia di cantante principale.

Per cinque anni scrive canzoni per la band e, insieme agli altri tre componenti, porta la sua musica in tutto il Nord Italia, grazie a più di cento concerti, nonostante la giovanissima età.

Nel 2008 registra voce e batteria in studio per il primo album della band, dopodiché, per circa un anno, si dedica esclusivamente al canto e comincia ad avvicinarsi alla chitarra.

 

LA CRESCITA

Nel 2009 torna alla batteria e inizia a frequentare lezioni private dal maestro Matteo Marchese (Ghemon, Flabby, Roby Zonca, Ila, Syria, Airys, Paletti) il quale diventerà una figura molto importante per la sua crescita artistica.

Nel 2010 studia e ricopre la figura di fonico sia per la registrazione in studio sia per i palchi live.

Nel 2011 fonda insieme ad Alessandro Ventura, Ivano Cattaneo (membri della prima band) e Alessio Caglioni (The Last Fight) la band BEAT BRAINS OUT (www.facebook.com/BeatBrainsOut) e incide il primo EP.

Nello stesso anno intraprende un percorso di specializzazione con il maestro di batteria Marco Volpe (Berklee College of Music, Marco Volpe Band, Mare Mossoe docente a: scuolaArci di Cremona, Centro Jazz di Torino, Conservatorio di Milano, Accademia di Musica Moderna di Milano, Accademia di Musica di Bellinzona).

 

L’ESPERIENZA ALL’ESTERO

Viene poi contattato dall’agenzia svizzera Movida/Stars per partecipare a un progetto, coordinato dal bassista Stefano Branzini, che sviluppa la riproposizione di cover rock all’interno dei villaggi turistici Alpitour Bravo, insieme al chitarrista Giovanni Guagenti e al cantante Luca Gagliano (www.facebook.com/ifuoridipista).

La nuova band vede il suo debutto nel mese di dicembre in Madagascar.

Nel 2012 si occupa di varie collaborazioni con diverse band, tra le quali anche i Columbia, tributo agli Oasis.

Per l’estate si sposta in Puglia e suona con i Fuori Di Pista, mentre crea, nei pressi di Bergamo, il DutyMusic Studio (www.facebook.com/DutyMusicStudio) nel quale è tuttora insegnante di batteria e produttore; qualche mese più tardi viene invitato a esibirsi in un concerto a Marsa Alam, in Egitto.

Studia e si esibisce alla Tech Music School/BIMM di Londra, una delle scuole di musica più ambite e celebri al mondo. Qui conosce e prende lezioni da Ian Goodall (GBR) e Philippe Castermane (GBR).

A cavallo del 2013 parte per l’America latina e, vivendo diversi mesi in Messico, continua ad occuparsi di musica e spettacolo, fino a quando, in aprile, torna in Italia per occuparsi di un progetto plasmato dalla band bresciana Le Case Del Futuro (www.facebook.com/lecasedelfuturo).

 

MUSE E ROCK’N’ROLL

Nell’estate del 2013 viene invitato a far parte dei BLISS (www.facebook.com/BlissMuseItalianTribute), la migliore band italiana per quanto riguarda il tributo ai Muse, insieme al cantante e chitarrista dei Dramalove, Diego Soncin, Daniele Migliorati e Michele Forgione.

Partecipa inoltre al concerto di beneficenza a Bergamo con l’orchestra Blind Band.

Durante gli ultimi mesi del 2013 prende lezioni dal batterista americano Leif Searcy (Carmen Consoli, Malika Ayane, Emma Marrone, Francesco Renga…).

Inoltre inizia a suonare per il cantautore svizzero George Merk (www.georgemerk.com) e il suo primo lavoro nel nuovo progetto, il singolo “The End”, va subito in testa nella classifica svizzera e resta al primo posto per diverse settimane.

Il 2014 inizia nel migliore dei modi, grazie al concerto al Live Club di Trezzo sull’Adda, dove Lore si esibisce con il tributo europeo ai Green Day, i Green Ade (www.facebook.com/GreenAdeEuropeanGreenDayTribute).

 

LA NASCITA DEI SERAPHINS E IL LAVORO CON GEORGE MERK

Il 2014 sarà anche l’anno di uscita del nuovo progetto chiamato SERAPHINS (www.seraphins.eu), per il quale stava lavorando da mesi insieme ad Alessandro Ventura e Marco Brignoli (SunsetBabyDolls).

In febbraio partecipa in diretta alla trasmissione di Red Ronnie “Roxy Bar” con George Merk.

In primavera registra con i Seraphins il primo singolo “Dreamless” con un video dedicato che è disponibile su YouTube e che è stato in rotazione su diverse radio e tv.

Nel bel mezzo del tour estivo dei Seraphins, diventa endorser delle bacchette svizzere Agner.

Il primo album “Colorful” esce a settembre ed è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme digitali in free download.

Dal 3 all’11 ottobre 2014 si sposta in Ucraina per una serie di concerti di promozione del nuovo album, questo permette al video di “Dreamless” di entrare in rotazione anche sulla tv locale.

I mesi a cavallo tra il 2014 e il 2015 sono densi di lavoro, tra la preparazione del tour europeo dei Seraphins e le registrazioni del nuovo album di George Merk.

A febbraio è nuovamente in tour: Ucraina, Polonia, Slovacchia e Italia sono gli stati toccati dalla band bergamasca che, ancora una volta, ottiene grande successo al di fuori dei confini di casa.

 

I VITTORIA AND THE HYDE PARK E IL TOUR IN BRASILE

Da marzo 2015 entra a far parte della band VITTORIA AND THE HYDE PARK (www.VHPofficial.com), registra il nuovo EP a Los Angeles, dal produttore Alessandro Calemme, suona al Bastianich Music Festival, compare nei video della band, nelle numerose ospitate live, in radio e nelle diverse sfilate della moda milanese.

L’estate del 2015 è ricca di concerti live, tra i più importanti: l’Home Festival di Treviso con i VHP in apertura ai Franz Ferdinand And Sparks e il Bum Bum Festival di Trescore Balneario (BG) con i Seraphins.

A ottobre firma il contratto di endorsement con Paiste Cymbals, compare in un programma di Fox TV su Sky, prosegue le registrazioni dell’EP dei Vittoria And The Hyde Park, in collaborazione con il produttore di Los Angeles, e lavora al nuovo album dei Seraphins per l’etichetta tedesca SPV GmbH.

All’inizio del 2016 inizia il tour italiano #ilpopèunacosaseria dei Vittoria And The Hyde Park, calcando i palchi dei club di tutta Italia. Il primo singolo della band intitolato “Tomorrow” esce il 25 marzo 2016 per RNC Music, insieme al videoclip diretto da Ivica. Dopo qualche mese viene rilasciato il secondo singolo “Burn Down The Summer”, che entra in heavy rotation su diverse radio nazionali italiane e viene licenziato in altri 16 Paesi.

Il brano viene anche scelto come colonna sonora per il telefilm “RockStory” di GloboTV in Brasile.

 

IL VIDEO VIRALE SUI LED ZEPPELIN

A ottobre del 2016 pubblica il suo celebre video “LED ZEPPELIN: a 6 Minute Drum Discography”, nel quale ripercorre tutti gli 81 brani dei Led Zeppelin alla batteria, in un mix/medley di soli 6 minuti, in una cornice paesaggistica fantastica (https://youtu.be/ZBTAg64197A); attualmente il video supera le 180.000 visualizzazioni.

A maggio del 2016 è nuovamente all’estero, in tour con i Seraphins, che per la terza volta in 2 anni si ritrovano a suonare nell’Est Europa.

A dicembre del 2016 esce il secondo album dei Seraphins, intitolato “Skylines”, registrato al DutyMusic Studio di Lorenzo, prodotto dall’etichetta tedesca BeTrue Music e distribuito da SPV GmbH.

 

JOE BASTIANICH PROJECT

Nel 2017 entra in contatto con l’imprenditore e star televisiva JOE BASTIANICH (www.joebastianich.com), che lo sceglie come collaboratore, produttore artistico e batterista dei suoi progetti musicali: la band “Joe Bastianich Project” e lo spettacolo teatrale “Vino Veritas”. Nella primavera si sposta a New York per lavorare all’arrangiamento e la pre-produzione dei brani di Bastianich, insieme con il chitarrista Gabriele Tirelli. Nel bel mezzo dell’esperienza newyorkese, diventa endorser delle bacchette Vic Firth.
Alla fine di maggio, ecco un’altra memorabile esperienza: i Vittoria And The Hyde Park volano in Brasile per un tour promozionale. Partecipano a dirette radio e compaiono in una “telenovela”: il singolo “Burn Down The Summer” è sigla del telefilm “Rock Story”, in onda ogni giorno su Globo TV, la più importante emittente televisiva brasiliana.

 

L’ESPLOSIONE E LE ESPERIENZE OLTREOCEANO

Nel 2018 esce in tutto il mondo l’album dei VITTORIA AND THE HYDE PARK, intitolato “#VHP”. Al suo interno anche i duetti con Joe Bastianich e Ben Alexander. Il disco entra in diverse classifiche di vendita e occupa posizioni di alta classifica in Brasile, Francia e Giappone. La band riparte in tour in Italia e viene invitata a partecipare a importanti interviste nelle radio nazionali come RTL 102.5, 105, Deejay, e in TV a SKYtg24. Anche Rolling Stone parla dei VHP, che iniziano a collaborare anche con l’importante etichetta milanese ArtistFirst di Claudio Ferrante.

Durante l’estate vola a Los Angeles insieme al JOE BASTIANICH PROJECT per registrare il nuovo album del progetto. La destinazione è la sala D degli Henson Studios, lo stesso studio dove hanno registrato i “mostri sacri” della musica!

Nel frattempo proseguono i concerti live con i SERAPHINS, i VHP e JOE BASTIANICH PROJECT.

Oltre a Paiste Cymbals e Vic Firth, Lorenzo Ferrari è anche endorser per Le Soprano Drums, Remo, Ludwig, 4ear IEM e Zoom.

Attualmente, oltre a svolgere un’intensa attività concertistica con le sue band, è anche insegnante e batterista turnista sia per i live che per le registrazioni in studio.

THE BEGINNING

Lorenzo Ferrari is a drummer, author, composer and sound engineer. He was born in Bergamo, Italy, on January 8, 1990 and approached music in 1995 at the age of five, studying piano.

After a few months, he moved his attention on the drums and when we was seven, he began to take private lessons from the teacher Marco Salomoni, learning the basics.
At ten years old, he attended the “Centro Studi Musicali di Bergamo Euphonia”, studying drums with Carlo Virzi and music theory with Mauro Longari.

 

THE FIRST BAND

After a lot of improvisations and jam sessions just for fun, in 2005 he founded, with guitar player Alessandro Ventura, his first rock band called “Fail” (www.facebook.com/FAILrock). Lorenzo was the drummer and the lead singer too.
He wrote songs for the band for five years and, with the other three components, brought his music throughout the North of Italy with more than eighty concerts.

 

MATURITY

In 2009 he started attending private lessons with Matteo Marchese (Ghemon, Flabby, Roby Zonca, Ila, Syria, Airys, Paletti) who will become a very important figure for his artistic and technical growth.

In 2010 he studied sound engineering for recording studios and the live stage with one service agency.

In 2011 he founded with Alessandro Ventura, Ivano Cattaneo (members of the first band “Fail”) and Alessio Caglioni (from “The Last Fight” band) the band “Beat Brains Out” (www.beatbrainsout.com) and they recorded their first EP.

In the same year he attended one specialization with the jazzman Marco Volpe (Berklee College of Music, Marco Volpe Band, Mare Mosso e docente a: scuola Arci di Cremona, Centro Jazz di Torino, Conservatorio di Milano, Accademia di Musica Moderna di Milano, Accademia di Musica di Bellinzona).

 

ABROAD EXPERIENCES

The Swiss agency “Movida” asked him to join a music project and he played in many places of the world with a new band.
The new band debuted in December in Madagascar.

In 2012, he did some collaborations with various bands, including the “Columbia” Oasis Tribute.
In summer he moved to Puglia and he played with “I Fuori di Pista” and he founded a small recording studio called DutyMusic Studio (www.facebook.com/DutyMusicStudio) near by Bergamo, in which he is also the drum teacher. A few months later he was invited to perform at a concert in Marsa Alam, Egypt.

He studied and performed at Tech Music School in London, one of the most important music schools in the world.

At the turn of 2013 he left for Latin America and he lived for several months in Mexico, where he continued to work with music and entertainment, until, in April, he returned to Italy to play with the band “Le Case Del Futuro” from Brescia.

 

MUSE AND ROCK’N’ROLL

In the summer of 2013 he was invited to be a part of the band Bliss (www.facebook.com/BlissMuseItalianTribute), the best Italian tribute band to Muse, with the singer and guitarist Diego Soncin (from Dramalove).
He also took part in the charity concert with the orchestra Blind Band in Bergamo.

During the last months of 2013, he took lessons from the American drummer Leif Searcy (Carmen Consoli, Malika Ayane, Emma Marrone, Francesco Renga…) and he worked on the project Seraphins, writing the songs of the first album.

Furthermore he began playing for the Swiss songwriter George Merk (www.facebook.com/georgemerk) and his first work in this new project, the single “The End”, went to the top of the Swiss charts, and it remained in first place for several weeks.

The 2014 started in the best way, thanks to the concert at Live Club in Trezzo, where Lore played with the European Tribute of Green Day, the Green Ade (www.facebook.com/GreenAdeEuropeanGreenDayTribute).

 

SERAPHINS AND GEORGE MERK

This will also be the year of the release of the new project called Seraphins for which he has been working for months with Alessandro Ventura and Marco Brignoli (SunsetBabyDolls).

In February he participated in the transmission of Red Ronnie “Roxy Bar” with the George Merk band.

In spring he recorded with Seraphins the single “Dreamless”, with a videoclip, and it broadcasted in the radios.

The new album was out and in October he went to Ukraine for a promotional tour with Seraphins.

The last months of 2014 were very intense and Lorenzo recorded the “Independent Fool” album of George Merk in Switzerland.

In February he came back in tour: Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Italy with Seraphins.

 

VITTORIA AND THE HYDE PARK

From March 2015 he began to play with the band “Vittoria And The Hyde Park” (#VHP) from Milan. He recorded the first EP in Los Angeles with the producer A. Calemme (Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Juliete Venegas), he played for the “Bastianich Music Festival” and for a lot of fashion shows in Milan.

In the summer of 2015 he played at Home Festival in Treviso with #VHP, opening for Franz Ferdinand And Sparks and he played at Bum Bum Festival in Bergamo with Seraphins.

In October he signed his endorsement contract with Paiste Cymbals and he continued his job for his projects, in particular he recorded the new Seraphins’ album for the SPV GmbH Label.

Beginning of 2016, he played in the new tour of #VHP all over Italy and the songs of the band have been on the most important Italian radios for several months.

 

LED ZEPPELIN VIDEO

In October, Lorenzo published the “LED ZEPPELIN: a 6 Minute Drum Discography” viral video: 81 songs in 6 minutes (https://youtu.be/ZBTAg64197A).

In May, he was in tour with Seraphins in Eastern Europe. And the new album “Skylines” was out during the tour.

 

JOE BASTIANICH PROJECT

In 2017 he knew Joe Bastianich. They worked together in New York for the band “Joe Bastianich Project” and the theater show “Vino Veritas” with Gabriele Tirelli.
During his stay in New York, he became endorser for Vic Firth.
In May, he moved to Brazil with Vittoria And The Hyde Park band. They took part in the Brazilian soap opera “Rock Story” for Globo TV and they song “Burn Down The Summer” became the official soundtrack of the “novela”.

 

OVERSEAS EXPERIENCES

In 2018 the “VITTORIA AND THE HYDE PARK” published the new album “#VHP”. It went up the charts of Brasil, France and Japan.

In the summer, Lorenzo flew to Los Angeles with the JOE BASTIANICH PROJECT to record the new album in the Henson Studios. 

Lorenzo is endorser for Vic Firth, Paiste Cymbals, Ludwig, Remo, Le Soprano Drums, 4ears In-Ear Monitor and Zoom.

Now he’s playing with his bands, teaching drums in his studio and he is also a session drummer for live concerts and studio recordings.
